Optimistic… yes… Convinced… well…

Of course I would have preferred a win. I want us to win every game. But…

First, let’s grade…

* Offense… B+
* Aside from early game penalties on the o-line, pretty solid and very balanced.
* Defense… A-
* Keeping Oklahoma to three touchdowns was much better than expected. The last line I saw was 22.5. Even if they had to kept us scoreless, they wouldn’t have covered.
* Coaching… A
* Team seemed well prepped and kept their heads in the game.
* The return from half time didn’t change much. We adjusted and they adjusted, but the game theme remained the same.
* Special Teams… D
* Culp is 3-8 on the year and 1-3 during the game. Kicking game added 4 points and gave up 2. Punting game was acceptable, but nothing special.

Second, Scott Frost…

* Personally, I think we stay the course with Frost. Does he still have team issues? Yes, but that was a solid game and shows what he can do.

Finally…

* Sparty will be ranked next week, but with a O and D performance like we just saw, and any improvement in the kicking game, and I think we can go in there and win. Think of what kind of attitude the players will attain with a win against a ranked opponent will provide.
