Optimism

I don’t usually post here but I just wanted to put this out there. I am very hopeful about what will happen soon with this team. I know the mental aspect of the game has to greatly improve but from a performance standpoint look who had plays for us yesterday:
Farmer
Reimers
Ty Robinson
Fleming
Betts (only a couple passes I know but still something)
McCaffery
PLUS guys with big upside who played but might not have stood out yesterday:
Benhart
Piper
Heinrich
Taylor Britt
Scott III
They’re all sophomore and younger! And yes, maybe you could take a snapshot of any team and come up with the same amount of underclassmen who played in any given game, but, man, my gut tells me there is something special about these guys. Not to mention guys like Jurgens (hurt) or Fidone (maybe instant help next year?)
My hope is that if this is a throw away year, then hopefully we put as many young guys out there as we can and we can start having more optimistic conversations like “Yeah we lost, but did you see Fleming, or Scott, or Farmer, or Betts make that play. Man, that gives me hope….that’s all…hope”
