On Saturday, our defense held Oklahoma to 23 points. The last team to hold OU to 23 points or fewer was Clemson in the 2015 Orange Bowl (17)

I thought this was a super encouraging stat looking forward. OU has one of the highest-powered offenses in the country (and has since even before we left the Big 12). Turns out its been almost 6 years since *anyone,* including top-tier teams like Alabama, Georgia, and LSU that OU’s played in bowl games, has limited the Sooners to that few points.

The last time that happened was the 2015 Orange Bowl, where Clemson beat OU 37-17.

EDIT: Houston beat Oklahoma 33-23 on September 23, 2016; either way it’s still been roughly 5 years since the Sooners only scored 23
