The new professional volleyball team in Omaha has begun to sign players for its first season in 2024, including former Nebraska All-American outside hitter Gina Mancuso-Prososki.
Mancuso has both played professionally and coached since her Nebraska career ended 10 years ago, including in Puerto Rico this year. The Omaha native was a first-team All-American for the Huskers in 2011 when Nebraska won the Big Ten championship.
“Being chosen in the first-ever major professional women’s volleyball league in the United States is an incredible honor with immense significance, pride and excitement,” Mancuso said in a news release.
“It’s been a smooth and fun process with head coach (Shelton) Collier leading the way and working with him on building a championship team.”
Mancuso may have an excellent setter to play with, as the Omaha team has also signed former Wisconsin All-American setter Sydney Hilley.
