Nine Huskers Earn Academic All-Big Ten Honors



Nine Nebraska volleyball student-athletes have been recognized with Academic All-Big Ten honors, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Seniors Lexi Sun (journalism & mass communications), Nicklin Hames (child, youth & family studies) and Callie Schwarzenbach (nutrition & health sciences) collected the award for the third time in their Husker careers. Kenzie Knuckles (marketing) and Madi Kubik (communication studies) both made the list for the second time.

Senior Kayla Caffey (teaching, learning & teacher education) and sophomores Keonilei Akana (psychology), Anni Evans (psychology) and Kalynn Meyer (agricultural engineering) were all first-time honorees.

To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, students must be on a varsity team, as verified by being on the official squad list as of November 1 for fall sports, who have been enrolled fulltime at the institution for a minimum of 12 months and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
