Nebrasketball to Land Wisconsin Transfer Kobe King

A win in the middle of a 12 game losing streak for Nebraska men’s basketball.

Wisconsin guard Kobe King is coming to the Huskers. Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports first reported King’s transfer plans.

King announced in January that he was leaving the Badgers, just days after the school announced he would not play against Iowa as he dealt with a personal matter.

The 6-4 redshirt sophomore started 19 games this season, averaging 10.0 points and 2.8 rebounds. King had nine points and five assists against the Huskers in one of the last games he played for Wisconsin.

At La Crosse Central High School in Wisconsin, King won the state’s Mr. Basketball award in 2017.

King will need to seek a waiver for immediate eligibility. If granted, he will have two years to play for Nebraska.

The addition of King brings the 2020 class to three, with Western Nebraska Community College guard Teddy Allen and Chipola College forward Lat Mayen as the other two.
