Nebrasketball: Nebraska 71 Stetson 62

A slow start didn’t doom the Huskers in Lincoln on Friday night

It was a slow start and it took most of the game for the Huskers to wake up but they defeated the Stetson Hatters 71-62 in Lincoln on a cold Friday night. A game that the Huskers should have had an easier time winning. However poor shooting and Stetson taking advantage of a lack luster Nebraska squad kept the score close for most of the game.

The Huskers and Hatters both shot poorly going 34.9% and 35.7% from the floor respectively. To credit the Hatters, they did come out well defensively and played zone against the Huskers for most of the night. Something that Nebraska has struggled against this season.

The Huskers were lead by Issac Copeland who had 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks. While he started out slow, Issac was able to overcome his problems finding the basket and helped lead the Huskers in the end. James Palmer Jr. tied Copeland with 13 points and end the night with a nice 8 rebounds and 2 assists.
