Fans have had the same questions for Matt Rhule wherever he’s gone the last few weeks.
How is recruiting going? Will Nebraska land this guy? What about that guy?
The Husker coach has weathered the curiosity even more so following a major weekend of unofficial visitors as top 2024 regional prospects — and some national ones, headlined by five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola out of Arizona — converged in Lincoln.
“To me, we don’t put time frames on things,” Rhule said. “We wanted everyone to get here, to see it, to see the staff, to see the campus, to see the opportunity, to see the new building right behind us, to sort of see everything. Then hopefully we can get them back for the spring game or for official visits. We’ll have a good class.”
The weekend also included a slew of former NU players, including Heisman Trophy winners Johnny Rodgers and Eric Crouch, on hand for the Saturday workout along with high school coaches.

Nebraska will continue to bring in unofficial visitors to observe spring practices, as they have for the last week, Rhule said. Some were present Tuesday morning to watch drills and converse briefly with NU staffers.
“We don’t really recruit,” Rhule said. “We’re not trying to talk slick. We’re not trying to tell everybody things they want to hear. We very simply talk about our program, how we’re going to do things, what we’re built upon and also our vision for each person and what it’ll be like when they’re here. It’s really transparent. It’s not for everybody, but I think a lot of guys will find they’ll want to come to a place like this, come to Nebraska.”
The Huskers have one commit in their 2024 class in athlete Roger Gradney of Garwood, Texas.
