Nebraska’s Keisei Tominaga nets 3-point title and steals show at college all-star event

In one of his last acts in a Nebraska uniform, Keisei Tominaga was able to combine two aspects of his game that defined his tenure at NU: 3-pointers and showmanship.

Tominaga won the men’s college 3-point contest Thursday, beating a field of seven other contestants. And doing it with his usual flair.

After a slow start in the second round, Tominaga mounted his comeback with Ohio State’s Jamison Battle shooting on the other end of the floor.

Tominaga made his first three attempts, missed one and waited for the clock to wind down with only the money ball — worth two points — remaining.

He buried the shot at the buzzer and advanced to the final, where he dispatched Hofstra’s Tyler Thomas.

Tominaga ended the first round in similar fashion, delaying his last shot until the final second. He spun away from the basket and toward the crowd behind him after shooting, stealing a quick peek over his shoulder after the ball dropped through the hoop.
