Nebraska’s Brian Buschini gets Big Ten honor after gritty performance in win vs. Rutgers

After a gritty performance in which he shook off an early injury blow, Nebraska’s Brian Buschini has been named as the Big Ten’s special teams player of the week.

Buschini punted five times, averaging 50.2 yards per punt, and had a crucial 69-yard punt late in the fourth quarter which helped seal the game for Nebraska. His ability to convert a fake punt by throwing a 30-yard pass was equally as crucial, leading head coach Matt Rhule to say Buschini had played with the “heart of a lion.”

Buschini is the first Nebraska player to win the weekly award since Quinton Newsome in October 2023.
