Nebraska’s 56 year long streak of having a player selected in the NFL Draft comes to end

For the first time since 1962, the Huskers have not had a player picked in the NFL draft. Although a couple of Nebraska natives (Noah Fant and Easton Stick) were among the 254 players selected during the draft, neither of them played for NU.

It is a significant indicator of how far the program has declined. The signs were especially apparent in 2017 as well, when Nebraska’s streak of multiple players getting picked in each year ended after just one player, Nate Gerry, was drafted.

It is still possible though for former Husker players like Stanley Morgan Jr., Devine Ozigbo, Tanner Farmer and Luke Gifford sign for an NFL team despite going undrafted.
