Nebraska WR Kanawai Noa Named to Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Watch List

Kanawai Noa, a  grad transfer from Cal, was one of 62 players named to the 2019 Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Award preseason watch list on Tuesday.

The Honolulu, Hawaii, native joined NU in the summer. It’s the third time Noa has been placed on the Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Watch List. In 2018, the 6-foot, 200 pound wide receiver caught 30 passes for 369 yards in a season marred by injury. In 2017 however, Noa had a career high 56 catches for 788 yards and four touchdowns.

The five finalists for the Polynesia College Football Player of the Year Award will be announced on December 5th and the winner will be announced on December 17th. One of Nebraska head coach Scott Frost’s protégées, former Oregon QB Marcus Mariota, was the inaugural recipient of the award back in 2014.
