The Nebraska women posted the best NCAA regional score in school history Wednesday, finishing ninth at the event in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The Huskers shot 295 in the third round to finish the tournament with a school-record 893. That’s six shots better than NU’s previous mark of 899 during the 2000 regionals.
Freshman Kelli Ann Strand led the Huskers again with a 72 in the final round to finish tied for 30th. Her 54-hole score of 220 tied the school record for an individual score at a regional.
Creighton’s Katherine Lemke also had a record-breaking performance at the regional in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The sophomore shot a 1-under 71 on Wednesday, beating her own school record for best NCAA regional round by seven strokes. Lemke tied for 48th, the best regional finish by a Bluejay in program history.
