Nebraska will beat #3 Oklahoma.

Bold statement..I know. Just hear me out. I’ll start by pointing out the laughable #3 that’ll appear next to Oklahoma during next weekend’s broadcast (as long as the interns from the Illini game took the day off). Oklahoma is disgustingly overrated. Sure they put up 76 points against WCU and from a far this looks intimidating. until however, you take a closer look. WCU’s record starting from 2018 season is (4-30). They’re a whipping post, in their not so talented FCS conference. Meanwhile Nebraska beat a solid MAC conference Buffalo and pretty single handedly at that. Scott frost has been working towards this game since the off season understanding probably better than anyone the importance of this game. This might help better explain the seemingly timid, unprepared and confusing 8 point loss to Illinois during the season opener. I believe leading up to the Oklahoma game Scott frost wanted to keep most of his play book somewhat a mystery and really didn’t want to throw the kitchen sink at these first 3 opponents. This would’ve worked out just fine until Bret Bielema a first year Illini head coach called frost’s bluff and let it rip. Nebraska’s first game angst, novice play book and lack of fundamentals left the Huskers un able to squeak by. Bielemas win over the huskers will be the best win Illinois captures this season considering they don’t really play anybody else except Iowa and pennstate. I know the first week loss was frustrating but let’s be honest Nebraska beat themselves and Scott frost was more focused on week 3. The Illini were able to catch us on our heels. The Sooners are not a top 5 team but luckily for Nebraska everyone else seems to think so. If Nebraska’s offense finally hits full stride this weekend and the curse looming over special teams lifts Oklahoma is in for a rude awakening. A win over Oklahoma would force the CFB world to put eyes on us. Not only that but a crazy final week match-up with Iowa would take place. Have faith people.
