According to an ESPN report, Nebraska is finalizing a deal for its new athletic director one week after losing Trev Alberts to Texas A&M.
Washington A.D. Troy Dannen — on the job all of six months in Seattle — is in line to be NU’s next leader, ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported. Dannen took the UW job in October when the Huskies’ outgoing A.D., Jennifer Cohen, left for USC.
Previously, Dannen had been the athletic director at Tulane (2015-2023) and Northern Iowa (2008-2015). He also graduated from UNI.
Dannen has been chair of the NCAA football competition committee for the last four years and currently serves on the executive committee of the NCAA Football Oversight Committee.
