Nebraska Supreme Court Rules On White Clay Beer Sales

A Nebraska Supreme Court ruling today is a victory for opponents of beer sales in White Clay Nebraska. The state’s highest court backed up state regulators refusal to renew the liquor licenses of the four beer stores in the tiny northwest Nebraska town in April. They cited a lack of sufficient law enforcement.

The biggest customers for the beer came from the nearby Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, where alcohol is banned.

A Lincoln judge had ruled the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission didn’t have that authority…but today, the state’s highest court disagreed.
