Nebraska’s starting running will remain officially undefined into game week.
The Huskers on Monday didn’t list a No. 1 on their first depth chart of the season. They instead have a three-way committee at the top in senior Rahmir Johnson, junior Gabe Ervin and sophomore Rahmir Johnson. Sophomore transfer Dante Dowdell is listed fourth.
Meanwhile, Heinrich Haarberg — an eight-game starter in 2023 — is Nebraska’s No. 2 quarterback behind freshman starter Dylan Raiola. Coach Matt Rhule said last week that the offense will find a way to incorporate the uber-athletic Haarberg into its attack in one way or another.
NU’s starting receiver corps features transfers Jahmal Banks and Isaiah Neyor along with Janiran Bonner, who is listed as No. 1 in the slot. The second group is freshman Jacory Barney and sophomore Jaylen Lloyd on the outside along with Isaiah Garcia-Castaneda in the slot. No. 3s at wideout are Malachi Coleman, Alex Bullock and freshman Carter Nelson.
