Nebraska receives votes in preseason Associated Press Top 25 poll


Nebraska football received 16 points in the 2024 preseason Associated Press Top 25 poll released Monday. 

The Huskers, coming off a 5-7 season, is tied for 34th overall in the list, with the same number of points as Memphis and just ahead of Wisconsin, which received 15 points. Iowa starts the season at No. 25. Big Ten teams Ohio State (No. 2) Oregon (No. 4), Penn State (No. 8) and Michigan (No. 9) comprise 40% of the top ten, with USC (No. 23) joining the Hawkeyes in the Top 25, as well. 

One of NU’s non-conference opponents, Colorado, received a single 25th place vote in the poll. Overall, Nebraska plays five teams — OSU, USC, Iowa, Wisconsin and CU — that received votes in the preseason poll. 

Last week, Nebraska received two points in the preseason coaches poll.
