Nebraska quarterback commit TJ Lateef is the latest soon-to-be Husker to receive an invite to the prestigious Elite 11 quarterback competition in California.
Lateef, who committed to NU in early May, follows current Huskers Danny Kaelin and Dylan Raiola, both of whom got invites and eventually stood among the 2023 Elite 11 class. Kaelin was committed to Nebraska at the time, while Raiola was committed to Georgia. He eventually dropped the Bulldogs and committed to the Huskers just before the start of the December signing period.
The first Husker quarterback commit to receive an Elite 11 invite was Johnny Stanton in 2012; Stanton did not make the final 11 quarterbacks. Another local quarterback, Gretna graduate Zane Flores, was part of the 2022 Elite 11; Flores plays for Oklahoma State.

Lateef will compete for an Elite 11 designation June 18-20 in Los Angeles. Attendees go through a series of rigorous drills and receive updated scores as the camp progresses.
