Nebraska @ OSU – Missed Calls and Penalties

Poor Calls were made in the OSU game- that is a fact. These calls attributed to 40 yards “awarded” to OSU. 55 if you include Williams targeting. Two of these calls happened in the same drive, gifting OSU 30 yards.

These calls would not have won the game- but they would have allowed Nebraska to probably play a closer game. Is this enough to say B1G officiating is biased toward Nebraska? I’m not sure, but some of these are flat out egregious miss calls.

Feel free to contribute and input missed calls or other terrible penalty calls made against Nebraska during the game. I go through a few below.

**1st Quarter – 4:39 Left (7:53 in Video)**
Justin Fields is tackled for a loss and replay confirms his knee is down. Refs miss this call, give Fields a 7 yard gain and don’t review the play. Justin Fields throws a TD on the next play.

**2nd Quarter – 2:32 Left (20:30 in Video)**
Hands to the face and a hold. Better view in [this](https://youtu.be/JCP3Rck1AXE) video @ 45:51. The hold happens during a swim move by Dismuke and then his hands end up in the guys face AFTER the hold.

**2nd Quarter – 1:34 Left (21:52 in Video)**
Ball was uncatchable. There was contact but the receiver still wouldn’t have gotten to the ball. Really poor call. Should have been intercepted.

**2nd Quarter – 1:00 Left (23:25 in Video)**
Holding on Farniok. Benhart sealed the DL. It was a weak hold and an inconsequential one at that. The DL was already out of the play.

**4th Quarter – 10:54 Left (37:26 in Video)**
Huge hit by a big dude makes it look worse than it is. Williams launches, however leads with shoulder to receivers shoulders and chest and stays parallel to the ground. Hits the guys so hard he continues through the tackle and the back of Williams helmet makes incidental contact with the receivers facemask. The receiver is already going backwards before Williams helmet makes contact with the receivers.

**4th Quarter – 4:09 Left (40:35 in Video)**
Missed targeting call on OSU #41. Contact was initiated with the crown of the helmet against Thompkins helmet, did not lower shoulder, made no attempt to wrap. It is a textbook targeting call.
