Nebraska offers Pitt commit, in-state tight end Eric Ingwerson

Amie Just and Luke Mullin deliver the latest Four Downs, which begins with Nebraska honing in on details and technique this spring.

On the heels of receiving its first in-state commit of the 2024 class, the Nebraska football program is pursuing another in-state prospect who has verbally pledged to another school.

Papillion-La Vista tight end Eric Ingwerson, currently committed to Pittsburgh, announced Tuesday night a scholarship offer to the Huskers. The 6-foot-7, 235-pounder suddenly committed to the Panthers on March 21 after taking a visit to the school. The three-star prospect had 10 catches for 175 yards on offense and 54 tackles — 11 for loss — on defense for the Monarchs.

“They were all positive, both coaches and players towards each other, making a fun place to be while also playing with a chip on their shoulder during practice,” Ingwerson said last month about why he picked Pitt. “The coaching staff was amazing. I could tell they cared about me and wanted what was best for me.”
