Nebraska Names Lisa Johnson to Lead Women’s Golf Program

The University of Nebraska Athletic Department announced Friday afternoon that Lisa Johnson has been named the new head coach of the women’s golf program. Johnson previously served as the head coach of the University of Idaho women’s golf team from 2007 until 2019.

“I am extremely pleased that Lisa Johnson will be guiding the Nebraska women’s golf program,” NU Athletic Director Bill Moos said in a press release. “She is a proven winner and a fierce competitor who relates well with her players. I have admired Lisa’s body of work for some time and truly believe that she has what it takes to compete for championships.”

She is the replacement for Robin Krapfl, who led Nebraska’s women’s golf team for 32 seasons. Johnson is the 4th head coach in the 45 year old program’s history.

“I am incredibly thankful and excited for the opportunity to lead Nebraska women’s golf,” Johnson said. “It is an honor to take over for Coach Robin Krapfl. She left a terrific legacy, and I can’t wait to get to work with the strong roster we have returning and the incoming freshman. I want to thank Director of Athletics Bill Moos for this opportunity.”

At Idaho, Johnson led the Vandals to three NCAA Regionals and won the Big Sky Conference twice, in 2016 and 2018.
