Nebraska Lands Commitment from Kevin Cross, a 6-foot-8 Forward from Little Rock, Arkansas

The Nebraska basketball team landed their latest commitment last night from Kevin Cross, a 6-foot-8, 240 pound forward from Wilbur D. Mills High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. Cross made the announcement on both his personal Instagram account and his Twitter page.

He’s the second player to commit to NU this week, following Yvan Ouedraogo, a 6-foot-9, 260 pound forward from Bordeaux, France. Cross visited the Huskers back in April, the same weekend Ouedraogo was in Lincoln. Cross chose Nebraska over Oklahoma State and TCU.

Nebraska head coach Fred Hoiberg has completely overhauled the roster since he’s been hired. He’s brought in five transfers, two walk-ons, and now two players out of high school to bolster the squad. Since he officially took the job in late March, he parted ways with multiple players: Nana Akenten, Brady Heiman, Amir Harris, Karrington Davis and Justin Costello, who all entered the NCAA’s transfer portal.

Before Hoiberg even took over, plenty of attrition had already occurred. Sophomore guard Thomas Allen transferred to NC State in March. Also, James Palmer Jr., Isaac Copeland, Glynn Watson Jr., Johnny Trueblood and Tanner Borchardt all graduated and are no longer with the team.

If Isaiah Roby decides to leave for the NBA, then Nebraska will return just one player who saw the floor last year, Thorir Thorbjarnarson. Dachon Burke was on the team as well, however he had to sit out after transferring from Robert Morris.
