Nebraska Freshman Tight End Thomas Fidone Out With Knee Injury

Per news from spring practice, Scott Frost confirmed that Thomas Fidone, one of the best, most-anticipated tight ends in the nation, has suffered a knee injury that will require surgery.

Best case scenario for return is mid-season.

There will be no tackling in the first half. Given the obvious CURSE that is on Nebraska football, perhaps this is best.

Note that this only says tackling. It does not say “no live contact”, which means you can expect the lines to go at it full speed. That’s what I’m reading into it anyway.

I’m sure everyone has an opinion on whether it’s good or bad.

It doesn’t matter. At this point, whatever Scott Frost does it will be wrong. Until he starts winning some games, a malaise will remain over the program.

Maybe it’s just me, but I cannot think of a time at which there’s been less enthusiasm for Nebraska football than right now. Perhaps part of that can be blamed on a pandemic that’s sucked the life out of all of us, but the majority is due to a “show me” attitude amongst Husker fans.

I hope I’m wrong. Am I wrong? Use the comment section.

I remain optimistic. Unfortunately it will take months before we know what happens. Keep the faith, dammit.
