Nebraska football vs. Rutgers: Live updates


Good afternoon from Memorial Stadium, where it feels a lot more like July 5 than September 5. That’s because it’s unseasonably warm with temperatures up over 90 degrees.

Now, can Nebraska stay hot after it played a downright dominant second half of football against Purdue last week?

* One of the cleaner injury reports of the season for Nebraska, which lists just two players as out: Turner Corcoran and Tristan Alvano. Meanwhile, Rutgers is without 11 players, including a starting offensive lineman.

* Micah Mazzccua is here and participating in early warmups. He was suspended last week.

* It’s plenty hot in Lincoln today, but perhaps more notable is the wind, which is whipping from 15 to 25 mph with occasional gusts that could reach 40 mph, per The Weather Channel.
