Nebraska Football Leads Buffalo 14-0: Second Half Thread

It is HOT out there with some pre-game reports saying it is 131+ degrees on the field.

First Quarter

Both teams were trying hard to etablish the run with mixed success. The Huskers missed a field goal. Buffalo got into field goal range once themselves, but penalties took them back out. The way this game is going, those mistakes could make the difference.

Second Quarter

A Damion Daniels sack (check the game recap for the “Snack Attack” gif) got the Huskers the ball back with 8:37 left in the half.

It looked to be more of a rock fight until Adrian Martinez did his best Houdini escape and got out of a sack and ran to the five yard line.

On that play, Adrian Martinez entered rarified air.

Gabe Ervin got the first points of the day with a two yard touchdown run.

The Husker propensity for poorly timed penalties appeared again when a Zavier Betts TD catch was negated by a holding call and the Huskers ended up punting it back to Buffalo.

Samori Toure made a HUGE play to get the touchdown and give Nebraska a two-score lead.

The Bulls worked their way down field and tried a 52 yard field goal as the half expired. Thankfully it was no good.

Buffalo is everything we expected, a tough physical team that is not intimidated by the atmosphere. Nebraska continues to make mistakes and needs to clean things up. Even a 14 point lead doesn’t feel safe.
