Nebraska Football: Dylan Raiola Makes Preseason True Freshman All-American Team Huskers News Matt Rhule

I am thinking most of us are assuming Dylan Raiola, true freshman at Nebraska, is slotted to be the starting quarterback for the Huskers.

Otherwise, it would be silly for somebody to put him on a Preseason True Freshman All-American team.

Well Chris Hummer of 247Sports has done exactly that and he is the only quarterback on the list and Hummer had this to say about Raiola and this upcoming season:

It’d be a shock if anyone but Dylan Raiola emerged as Nebraska’s starter this year. The program had an all-in approach with him as a recruit, and the plan is to hand him the keys to the program. A five-star recruit with an NFL arm and Nebraska bloodlines, Raiola is the most exciting Huskers quarterback in years. Plus, it’s not like offense can get any worse with a true freshman as QB1. The Huskers are coming off a season in which they finished 129th nationally in passing yards per game.

Like Hummer, I think it is safe to say that Raiola will be the starter at the beginning of this upcoming season.

The Big Ten has five other players who made this list. The SEC has six total.

We all truly hope that Raiola lives up to the hype but we have been burned before.
