Nebraska landed the seventh member of its 2025 recruiting class when Littleton (Colo.) Heritage athlete Tanner Terch announced his commitment on Thursday. Here’s the key information to know about the Huskers’ latest commit.
Height and weight: 6-2, 185 pounds.
Two takeaways
* 2025 efforts ramping up: After entering the month of April with three commits in its 2025 class, Nebraska has now added four more in a two-week span. Lincoln Southwest athlete Jackson Carpenter, Maize (Kansas) wide receiver Bryson Hayes and tight end Bear Tenney had been on NU’s radar for several months with scholarship offers; Terch had not. Instead, an unofficial visit to Nebraska’s Thursday spring practice led to Terch receiving an offer then committing soon after.

Nebraska’s 2025 efforts are far from finished, with the string of April commits simply marking the first step in a busy three-month stretch.
Out-of-state official visitors will be in Lincoln this Saturday for the Spring Game, and the Huskers have planned other major official visit weekends for mid-to-late June.
* Colorado efforts continue: Terch’s commitment marks another key step in Nebraska’s efforts to recruit players from surrounding states. Albeit in a down year for Colorado overall — the state had 20-plus three-star prospects in 2023 and 2024 according to 247 and only has six this cycle — landing the top-ranked recruit is still indicative of NU’s presence within the state.
With limited time to build its 2023 class, Nebraska identified three quality prospects from Regis Jesuit in Denver: linebacker Hayden Moore, tight end Andrew Metzger and defensive back D’Andre Barnes. Metzger committed elsewhere, Moore first pledged to Nebraska then flipped to Michigan and Barnes is currently a redshirt freshman on the roster.
The Huskers cast a wider net in the next cycle, building relationships which helped them discover Terch. Safety Rex Guthrie, who committed to Nebraska a year ago, is a former high school teammate of Terch’s.
What it means
A three-sport athlete who also plays basketball and runs track, Terch is another example of Nebraska’s preference for landing big, quick athletes along the recruiting trail who it can develop over time.
Following two likely wide receiver commits in Hayes and Carpenter, Terch could be another future member of that position room. Terch could perhaps play in the secondary due to his ball skills and lanky frame, but a 55-catch, 876-yard junior season on offense indicates his talent as a wide receiver.
Terch is a sharp route-runner with a quick release off the line of scrimmage. His 6-2 frame helps him shield opposing defenders from the ball, and Terch also has a big vertical leap which helps him make contested catches.
Nebraska now has a foundation in its upcoming recruiting class at the wide receiver position and is still pursuing several high-level 2025 pass-catchers.
