Nebraska cancels series with Tennessee | KLIN

Nebraska football announced Friday that it would cancel the 2026 and 2027 games against Tennessee.

“We are making plans to embark on major renovations of Memorial Stadium that may impact our seating capacity for the 2027 season,” Nebraska Director of Athletics Troy Dannen said. “The best scenario for us is to have eight home games in 2027 to offset any potential revenue loss from a reduced capacity. The additional home games will also have a tremendous economic benefit on the Lincoln community.”

The Huskers will fill the holes on their schedule with matchups against Bowling Green in 2026 and Miami (Ohio) in 2027. Also, NU announced that the Huskers will be playing Northern Iowa in 2027, completing Nebraska’s 2027 slate of eight home games, the most home games in a season since 2013.

The Huskers still have schedule non-conference matchup against power conference schools Arizona (2028 and 2031), Oklahoma (2029 and 2030), Cincinnati (2032) and Oklahoma State (2034, 2035) contracted for future schedules.
