Nebraska Basketball: Huskers to Play Mississippi State in the NIT

A rematch of the preseason exhibition game

The Huskers did not make the NCAA Tournament this year but did make the NIT in New York. They secured a #5 seed and will play #4 seeded Mississippi State. The game will be played on March 14th in Starkville, Mississipi at 8:00pm cst.

If you remember the Huskers played and beat the Bulldogs in a preseason exhibition game in Starkville.

The game was played all the way back in October. It was a charity game set up to help relieve those who suffered from Hurricane Irma earlier in the fall. Nebraska won that night 76-72. James Palmer Jr. lead the team with 17 points and Isaiah Roby had a very nice 8 rebounds. A precursor for what was to come from these two as the season went on.
