Nebraska Basketball: Huskers Defeat Southern 81-76

The Huskers holds off the Jaguars behind Jeriah Horne’s 18 points.

The Nebraska Cornhusker Basketball team gets a much needed win Tuesday night. The Huskers were able to hold off the Southern Jaguars and get back to .500 going into Big Ten Conference play. While it wasn’t very pretty, Nebraska was able to take control in the final seconds and secure the victory. Nebraska is 6-6 on the season and even though they have missed some opportunities, they are at least able to go into conference play on a high note. It is also only going to get tougher from here. Nebraska gets an eight day break before they start conference play. The Huskers first five Big Ten games are as followed: at Indiana, at Maryland, vs. Iowa, vs. Northwestern and at Michigan. It’s going to be a tough stretch to start conference play. Nebraska will need to get off to a hot start to avoid falling below .500 again.
