Nebraska Basketball Announces Transfer of Forward Ed Morrow, Jr.

One of the best rebounders in the Big Ten is taking his talents elsewhere.

Sophomore forward Ed Morrow, Jr. and men’s basketball head coach Tim Miles announced Morrow’s departure from the team a short time ago. Morrow averaged just under 10 points per game in the 24 games he played this season. He was sidelined with a foot injury toward the end of the season and the team struggled mightily in his absence.

Morrow was also the Husker’s leading shot blocker (27) and rebounder, averaging 7.5 per game (9th in the Big Ten). He was second in the Big Ten for offensive rebounds averaging 3.2/game.

“I want to say thank you to my teammates, coaches, the fans and the University of Nebraska Athletics Department for giving me the opportunity to play Division I basketball,” Morrow said. “It is hard to leave home, and Nebraska is my home. I was born and raised here, it is my parents’ alma mater, and I have a lot of friends here. But sometimes you have to venture out to pursue dreams and aspirations in a career. This is a sacrifice I have to make to better myself.”
