The best thing about baseball, is after a game like last nights you don’t have to a week to stew over it like football or even 2-3 day like basketball. You are forced to go right back out there the next day and get after it. As a bonus for Nebraska, you get to throw the best pitcher in the conference out there, and an almost unlimited bullpen with the prospect of an off day tomorrow, should your tournament continue.

6 seed Purdue lost to 3 seed Indiana yesterday. (Check here for a full recap). The final score was 8-6, but the game was not that close for the majority of the afternoon. Indiana threw one of their less used arms late and gave up 4 runs in the 9th inning. Both teams took advantage of the wind blowing out with 9 total extra base hits.

Purdue is expected to go with a grad transfer from Georgia, Luke Wagner. He is a lefty, but doesn’t have the velocity of Beidelschies from Ohio State. He beat up some weak teams to make his overall stats look decent, but in B1G play his ERA is 5.85 and only 22 strikeouts in 40 innings.

Nebraska last played the Tarpers (#NeverForget) in the final regular season series last season. They took 2 of 3 from Purdue, right in front of the infamous tarp, which did make an appearance on a rainy Saturday.
