Huskers pick up first win of Will Bolt era

The Will Bolt era got off to a fast start as the Huskers scored 11 runs in the first inning and never looked back. The Huskers kept their foot on the gas pedal last night, scoring 19 runs and defeated the Baylor Bears 19-9 in the season opener for both teams. Gareth Stroh picked up the win for the Huskers in his first start for Nebraska.

The Huskers started the night off fast as they batted around in the first inning. Working against Baylor starting pitcher Jimmy Winston, the Huskers lineup started the night with five consecutive singles. Jaxon Hallmark, Cam Chick, Spencer Schwellenbach, Aaron Palensky, and Luke Roskam all got their first hits of the season to take a 3-0 lead. Two errors, a pair of walks would chase Winston from the game.
