Nebraska Baseball Gamethread: Huskers Set To Play Two At Husker Classic

Nebraska gets back on the diamond after a 8-3 season opening win yesterday.

After breaking out offensively, the Nebraska Baseball team will play two games on Saturday with the Huskers taking on Washington State at 1:00 PM CST, and finishing the day against California-Riverside at 5:00.

Nebraska last night used six walks, six stolen bases, and three Highlander errors to score eight runs, their highest opening day output ever in the Darin Erstad era. The eight runs are the most the Huskers have scored in a season opener since the 2006 season, when they scored 11 in a 11-1 drubbing of Charleston Southern.

In the first game, Nebraska will see left handed starting pitcher Cody Anderson. Nebraska took down opening day lefty Hazahel Quijada last night. Anderson is a crafty pitcher, who will most likely give Nebraska some trouble. He was competitive in most of his games last season, including pitching well at Oregon State.
