Nebraska #22 in 2015-16 NCAA Finances Report

Nebraska’s athletic department is in pretty good shape when it comes to finances.

USA Today published their annual report on NCAA school finances. The Nebraska athletic department pulled in $112,142,961.00 in total revenue during the 2015-16 school year. This is up from $102,157,399.00 the previous year.

This number brings them in as the 8th most profitable department in the Big Ten behind Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin, Penn State, Michigan State, Minnesota, and Iowa, respectively.

It is worth noting that Nebraska has only received a small percentage of what the other Big Ten schools ahead of them in the rankings are getting. This was a part of the contract Nebraska agreed to with joining the conference. This year will mark the first year that they will get full distribution from the Big Ten Conference which could be around the $50 million mark. Easily pushing them into the top 15 in the country.
