MINNESOTA TE CHASE ANDROFF Commits to Nebraska Football

DID YOU GUYS MISS ME???????? THEY COULDN’T HOLD A REAL ONE DOWN!!!!!!!!

It has been a bit of a drought for Nebraska recruiting-wise. Things were very quiet on the athlete-schmoozing front because everyone was waiting for the NCAA dead period to end. It finally ended on June 1st, allowing kids to officially see schools & coaches in person for the first time in over a year. Nebraska hosted several official visitors the first weekend after the dead period ended, and now it is harvesting the fruits of its labor.

The Huskers landed the commitment of 3 star Minnesota TE Chase Androff Monday evening. The 6-foot-6, 230 lb. Androff hails from Lakeville, Minnesota & plays his prep ball for Lakeville North High School. He hails from the same town as Husker offensive tackle Bryce Benhart & their high schools (North & South) are rivals.

Upon watching his film, I immediately notice that he is a SUPERB in-line blocker. His high school runs a wing-T offense so he is well-nuanced in blocking schemes. The Husker offense under new OC Matt Lubick has been trying to become a more power-based O & it is evident that Chase can help them achieve that goal. Another aspect in Chase’s film, I can definitely tell that he has a background in basketball because he aggressively catches passes like Jusuf Nurkic collecting a rebound.

When I watch his film, I am oft-reminded of Zander Neuville, the former Wisconsin Badger tight end. Zander was a blocking maestro for the power run-oriented Badgers, helping open huge holes for Dare Ogunbowale & Jonathan Taylor. I can definitely see Chase filling that role of in-line blocking TE very well & potentially having a bigger role in the passing game than the aforementioned Neuville did.

Chase only visited Nebraska, but also planned on visiting TCU & Michigan State this month. With his sudden commitment, I’m not sure he’ll visit those schools anymore. He also held offers from Iowa State, UCF, and a host of lower G5 & Ivy League schools.

Androff’s commitment leaves the Huskers with the 60th best recruiting class in the country according to Rivals, while 247 has the Good Guys with the 67th best class in the FBS & 13th best in the conference that Kevin Warren & Urban Meyer ruined. You can DEFINITELY expect these numbers to rise. In the words of Migos group member Quavo, right now we’re doing a little bit of straightenin’.

Side note: This is my favorite song right now. Outside jogging, in the club, in the car, staring in the bathroom mirror, I can’t help but start dancing stupidly whenever I hear it.

Welcome to Nebraska, Chase! GBR!!!
