Michigan State Football: Nebraska and the big play

The Michigan State football team opens up Big Ten play this week with a home game against the undefeated and #19 ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers. While the game is no longer a division matchup, if Michigan State hopes to have any chance at making the college football playoff, they need to win out.
Most people might look at this matchup and think it will be a low scoring game between two traditionally tough defensive teams. What it really is, is a matchup between two of the nation’s top offensive clubs.
Michigan State comes in as number three ranked scoring offense in the country at 50.3 points per game. Against FBS opponents, MSU ranks number two in scoring offense at 52 points per game.
Nebraska, meanwhile, comes in seventh in the nation in scoring at 45.4 points per game. Against FBS opponents, the Huskers rank right behind MSU at number three in the country with 49 points per game.
Needless to say, I would expect more fireworks than three-and-outs this Saturday night under the lights at Spartan Stadium.
