An old-school Big Eight rivalry will continue on Saturday when the Nebraska Cornhuskers host the Colorado Buffaloes . This game will be the 73rd meeting between the two teams, and Colorado will enter Memorial Stadium on a three-game winning streak in the rivalry.
The Huskers enter Saturday’s game with a 1-0 record after defeating UTEP in the season opener. Colorado won in their first game of the season with a victory over North Dakota State.
Last season, the Huskers struggled in a 36-14 loss to the Buffaloes . Nebraska leads the series all-time with a record of 49-21-2.
The Cornhuskers also hold the series record for the longest win streak, with 18 straight wins from 1968 to 1985. They also have the largest victory, at 59-0 in 1981.
Nebraska and Colorado will meet again on September 7 in Lincoln, Nebraska. The game will kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT and can be seen on NBC.
