Let’s talk QB and the approach Nebraska should take.

I’m not a coach, I have a lot of knowledge and some inside sources but nothing that rivals big groups like Husker online etc.

Some things to note.

Chubba has jitters, the coaches have basically confirmed this in interviews and makes a lot of sense why he struggled so hard in late games with all 3 of his INT’s coming at the end of games. I believe you give Chubba more time and he can really shine(something to note is Chubba can transfer because he’s gonna graduate) It also makes sense why he looked so bad last year is due to nerves/jitters and why he improved so much after being here for a year.

He’s averaging over 250 yards a game in offense by himself. This isn’t the most insane number he isn’t a Heisman guy but that’s not what Nebraska needs or wants. They need a guy who can move the ball. Chubba got Nebraska into scoring range 4 times against a top 10 defense in the nation and helped us keep the field position battle won for once against a team that is known to win field position.

You give Chubba another year and to actually get first reps for the offseason instead of 2’s and have the WR’s learn to play around him? You got some success.

Next let’s talk transfer portal and our future at QB. While Chubba MIGHT be what we look for the next 2 years back ups are a serious need here and finding both a back up and someone that could take the reigns in 2 years would be fantastic for Nebraska.

There are alot of people saying Danny isn’t a P5 level QB he got exposed pretty hard this year when his 2 WR’s were struggling or hurt and Nebraska while improved isn’t the expo of talent. We are going to need to produce someone alongside him just incase and grabbing from the same recruiting class is sorta a no go after we gave our word to him when Dylan deuced us.

Zane Flores is a name I’ve heard a couple times as a rumor but that’s simply a rumor with little backing to it. But that’s the kinda player you want to hit in the portal someone who can back up Chubba and is young enough to get playtime after Chubba or even taking the starting job from him if Chubba struggles but we can’t under ANY circumstance let Danny be that guy. He might come in and do well in 2-3 years with a RS but right now? No, he’s not ready.

Jeff Simms is gone. Haarberg needs to move to TE if he wants to play in the NFL or needs to really work with a QB coach to improve his passing but I just don’t see that in the cards he has a real shot as being a draftable TE with his speed and size.

On a side note it seems Nebraska has found a new RB target for the next recruiting class in Dylan Riley another Kewan Lacy type(not in skillset but in terms of hidden gem) seems to have a lot of talent and decent size to be w/e Nebraska wants him to be.

All things considered Nebraska needs some depth at RB we’re looking at Erving, EJ, and Ives next year. There are some other guys but we’re talking a far drop off and would need to have great improvement to see real play.

Now that my one day break from football is over it’s good to be back no matter how heartbreaking it was.

edit: Satt needs to move back to TE coach and we need to bring in a talented QB coach. We have a lot of extra money even if White gets a nice raise. USE IT RHULE.
