Lauren Stivrins To Return To Nebraska Volleyball, NIL Ready to Go

Per Volleyball Magazine:

Lauren Stivrins is returning if she’s physically able to do so.

Look at the opening to the Volleyball Mag article, then go read the rest:

A summertime visit on the recruiting trails with John Cook let us know that:

Nebraska volleyball is more than ready to pounce on the NIL and all that goes with it;

He’s still mad about the Texas Tweet;

Lexi Sun might make more money in college than had she gone pro;

Lauren Stivrins will be back, but that’s a double entrende;

The Stivrins news seems almost secondary to the discussion about NIL – Name, Image, and Likeness, or the ability for college athletes to make money off their “Name, Image, and Likeness”.

The Division I Council voted to recommend the Division I Board of Directors adopt an interim policy that would suspend amateurism rules related to name, image and likeness. The board meets Wednesday.

While opening NIL activities to student-athletes, the policy leaves in place the commitment to avoid pay-for-play and improper inducements tied to choosing to attend a particular school. Those prohibitions would remain in effect.

If adopted by the board, the temporary action would remain in place until federal legislation or new NCAA rules are adopted.

Nebraska is unique in its support of college athletics. This applies across all sports, not just football.

Lauren Stivrins and Lexi Sun are especially in a position to not only succeed in volleyball along with the rest of their teammates, but succeed in making bank as Nebraskans support them in whatever NIL ventures they choose to pursue.

I am completely certain of this. College athletics is going to change in a way we’ve never before seen and our beloved Huskers are in position to take advantage of it.

It’ll be great watching Lauren and Lexi for another season of Nebraska volleyball. The crowds at the Devaney Center will be better than ever!

WOOOOOO!!!!! WHAT A GREAT MONDAY!!!!!
