The Big Ten men’s and women’s basketball tournaments will be returning to familiar sites over the next two years before venturing into new territory.
The men’s tournament will be in Indianapolis in 2025 and 2027, Chicago in 2026 and Las Vegas in 2027, the conference announced Wednesday. The women’s tournament will be in Indianapolis in 2025 and 2026, Las Vegas in 2027 and Detroit in 2028.
Las Vegas and Detroit have never held either tournament before. Indianapolis has hosted 13 times on the men’s side and 27 times on the women’s. The men’s tournament has been in Chicago 11 times. Both tournaments were in Minneapolis in 2024.
Fifteen of the 18 teams in the new-look Big Ten will qualify, a break from previous tournaments in which every team made the field. Nebraska’s men advanced to the semifinals for the first time in program history in 2024. The women made the championship game, falling to Iowa in overtime.
