Jump in the time machine – what one thing would you change in the Husker timeline if you could?

So, we’ve got a little extra time on our hands. Let’s play a game of hypotheticals.

If you could reach back into the cosmos and alter just one event in the Husker timeline since November 30, 2003, what would it be? It could be one play, one injury, one boneheaded decision (I’m sure there have been a few), or even something off the field (looking at you, Calibraska). If you had Dr. Strange’s powers, what small nudge would you make to improve the fate of Husker football?

**There’s only one rule: You can’t change the timeline of any of our head coaches.**

Here’s my first thought: Go back to November 27, 2012, and somehow prevent Baker Steinkuhler’s season-ending injury against Iowa. It’s likely that having him on the field would have improved our odds against Wisconsin in the infamous 2012 Conference Championship Game in Indy. (After all, we did beat Wiscy during the regular season.) His absence was huge on the field, which allowed the Badgers to run that play that shall not be named over, and over, and over.

That one change could have at least secured us the 2012 conference title.
