Nebraska is set for the final weekend of the regular-season, as the Huskers welcome Michigan State to Hawks Field for a three-game series on Thursday-Saturday, May 19-21 in Lincoln.

 

First pitch for the series opener on Thursday is set for 6:35 p.m. The Huskers and Spartans continue the series with game two scheduled for a 6:32 p.m. start on Friday. Nebraska and Michigan State wrap up the series on Saturday at 12:05 p.m.

 

Saturday’s series finale is Senior Day for Nebraska, where the Huskers will recognize six seniors – Shay Schanaman, Efry Cervantes, Cam Chick, Griffin Everitt, Koty Frank and Dawson McCarville.

 

The games on Thursday and Saturday will be broadcast live on B1G+, while Friday night’s game will be televised on Nebraska Public Media with John Bishop and Brian Duensing on the call. Fans can also listen to Greg Sharpe and Ben McLaughlin call all the action on the Huskers Radio Network. All three games this weekend will be carried on KLIN (1400 AM) in Lincoln and KXSP (590 AM) in Omaha. Quick Hits

Garrett Anglim is hitting .305 with 11 doubles, four triples, four homers and 28 RBI on the season.

Griffin Everitt leads the Husker offense with 12 doubles while second the team with seven homers and 38 RBI this season.

Cam Chick and Max Anderson are tied with a team-high eight home runs this season, followed by six home runs by Brice Matthews and Colby Gomes.

• Gomes has posted a .319 batting average with four doubles, six home runs, 19 RBI and 15 runs in 25 games this season.

Emmett Olson sits third in the Big Ten with a 2.75 ERA in 18 appearances this season, including seven starts.

Braxton Bragg has a team-high five saves on the season with 35 strikeouts and only seven walks in 32 innings.

Koty Frank has a perfect 4-0 record with a 3.95 ERA and 67 strikeouts this season. Frank has totaled 57 innings in 13 total appearances, including seven starts.

• As a team, Nebraska is hitting .248 with 409 hits, 74 doubles, 13 triples, 45 homers and 293 runs.

• The Husker pitching staff has a team ERA of 4.72, while allowing 283 runs, 226 earned, and striking out 412 in 431 innings.

 

Scouting the Michigan State Spartans

• Michigan State enters the weekend with a 23-28 overall record and 7-14 mark in Big Ten play after winning one of three games last weekend vs. Iowa.

• Mitch Jebb has started all 51 games this season, hitting .351 with 10 doubles, three triples, six homers and 46 RBI. Casey Mayes has totaled 10 doubles, six triples, four home runs and 25 RBI this season, while Jack Frank has slugged a team-high eight home runs.

• Thursday night starter Conner Tomasic is 3-4 on the season with a 4.91 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 16 appearances including eight starts. Kyle Bischoff has made a team-high 22 relief appearances, posting a 2-1 record with a 3.35 ERA and team-high 11 saves.

• As a team, Michigan State is hitting .272 with 474 hits, 90 doubles, 18 triples, 34 home runs and 279 runs through 51 games.

• The Spartan pitching staff has a team ERA of 6.16, while allowing 376 runs, 205 earned, and striking out 363 in 445.2 innings.

• Head coach Jake Boss Jr. is in his 14th season at Michigan State and holds a record of 382-330 with the Spartans. Overall, Boss Jr. is 407-364 in his 15th season as a head coach.

• Nebraska and Michigan State have played 26 all-time, with the Huskers leading the all-time series with a 15-9 record.
