The Nebraska soccer team (2-0-0) aims to continue its momentum from last weekend when the Huskers hit the road to meet Baylor and Oklahoma this week.

The Huskers and Bears (1-1-0) square off Thursday at 7 p.m. CT at Betty Lou Mays Soccer Field in Waco, Texas. NU’s match against the Sooners (1-1-0) is slated for Sunday, starting at 1 p.m. CT at John Crain Field in Norman, Okla. Last Time Out

The Huskers have scored eight goals in the first two games of the season, recording two shutouts to start the season for the first time since 2003. Nebraska also broke an eight-game losing streak on the road, dating back to 2019 against Indiana.

Next Up

The Huskers host Omaha on Thursday, Sept. 2 at Hibner Stadium for the first of two home games before hitting the road.

Kicking Off

• Sophomore Reagan Raabe has scored three goals in Nebraska’s first two games of the season, improving her career total four. She has also recorded one assist and six shots on goal.

• Fellow sophomore Eleanor Dale has also started on an impressive note as she scored one goal in each half of Nebraska’s contest last weekend against Missouri. Dale was the leading scorer last season with two goals.

• The Husker defense has recorded two shutouts in two games of play as Sami Hauk and Makinzie Short have tallied eight saves.

Scouting the Baylor Bears

• Baylor is 1-1-0 on the year with a recent 4-0 win over North Dakota State last weekend.

• Last season, Baylor went 5-5-3 overall and finished fifth in the Big 12 with a 3-3-3 mark in conference play.

• Nebraska leads the all-time series between Nebraska and Baylor, 12-8-3, dating back to the first meeting between the schools in 1996. The last matchup between the two teams resulted in a 1-1 double-overtime tie in 2019.

• Head Coach Paul Jobson is 90-53-20 in his ninth season as head coach at Baylor. He holds a career conference record of 36-26-9. Jobson is assisted by C. Codd, M. Smith and M. Walsh.

Scouting the Oklahoma Sooners

• Oklahoma is 1-1-0 this season and won last weekend’s matchup against Lamar, 4-0.

• Oklahoma hosts in-state rival Oklahoma State on Thursday night before facing Nebraska on Sunday.

• Last season, Oklahoma went 1-12-2 overall and 1-5-1 in conference play and finished last in the Big 12.

• Nebraska leads the all-time series against Oklahoma, 13-4-2. The first matchup in 1996 with the Bears resulted in an 8-0 Husker win.

• Head Coach Mark Carr is in his second year at Oklahoma with a 2-13-2 record. Prior to Oklahoma, Carr spent six years coaching the U.S. Soccer Federation. Carr is assisted by Maryse Bard-Martel and David Gough.
