Nebraska treks south for a midweek matchup at Kansas State on Tuesday night in Manhattan, Kan. First pitch between the Huskers and Wildcats is set for 6 p.m. at Tointon Family Stadium.
Tuesday night’s game will be broadcast live on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.

Matthews Masterful in Month of March
• Junior Brice Matthews led the Huskers to an 11-5 record in the month of March, hitting a scorching .417 at the plate.
• With a .417 hitting clip, the junior totaled three doubles, a triple, seven home runs, 29 RBI and 18 runs in the 16-game stretch. The 29 runs driven in matches Matthews’ total in all of last season.
• In the 16 games, Matthews had seven multi-hit games, recording four two-hit games and a trio of three-hit performances. The Humble, Texas, native tallied nine multi-RBI games in March, including a pair of five-RBI contests.
Big Red Blasts
• Nebraska has been leaving the yard at an impressive rate this season with 42 long balls through 25 games, which ranks 37th nationally heading into Tuesday night’s matchup at Kansas State.
• So far this season, 11 different players have gone deep for the Big Red. All 11 of those players have hit multiple homers, led by Brice Matthews (8), Max Anderson (8) and Gabe Swansen (6).
• NU has homered in eight of its last nine games and has gone deep multiple times in 10 games this season.
Matthews, Columbus a Constant on the Bases
• Brice Matthews and Ben Columbus have been a constant on the base paths for the Huskers recently. Matthews enters Tuesday having reached base safely in 28 games while also riding an 11-game hitting streak.
• Columbus comes into Tuesday night’s matchup with the Wildcats with a 14-game reached base streak, dating back to the home opener against Northern Colorado.
Meyers, Bummer Make MLB Opening Day Roster
• Nebraska tied for the second-most active MLB players on an MLB Opening Day Roster, as Jake Meyers (Astros) and Aaron Bummer (White Sox) represented the Big Red.
• Meyers is coming off a World Series title last season after hitting .227 with a home run and 15 RBI for Houston, while Aaron Bummer was 2-1 with two saves and a 2.36 ERA in 32 relief appearances for the White Sox in 2022.
