The Nebraska women’s basketball team will host a special tip-off to the 2019-20 season when the Huskers welcome 3rd through 8th grade students from around the state to Pinnacle Bank Arena for the Nebraska Life Skills Sportsmanship Pep Rally on Wednesday, Nov. 6.

The Sportsmanship Pep Rally will take place prior to Nebraska’s season-opening game against Alabama A&M, which is scheduled for a noon tip-off at Pinnacle Bank Arena. The Bulldogs are coached by former Husker Margaret Richards.

Nebraska Senior Associate Athletic Director for Life Skills Keith Zimmer and his staff will be coordinating the pep rally, which will give students a chance to hear inspirational life skills and academic messages from Husker student-athletes and staff, before helping to tip off the 2019-20 basketball season.

The Nebraska High School Hall of Fame is partnering with the Huskers to reach out to elementary and middle grades students around the state to make the day’s activities possible.

It will be the second time that Pinnacle Bank Arena has served as a host site for the Nebraska Life Skills Sportsmanship Pep Rally. The first came on opening day for the arena on Nov. 8, 2013, when more than 4,000 youth from around Nebraska celebrated with the Huskers.

For more information, or to register your school to attend the Nebraska Life Skills Sportsmanship Pep Rally, please email Assistant Director of Life Skills Kate Frazier at kfrazier@huskers.com.
