The Nebraska baseball team takes on Omaha in a two-game home-and-home series on Sunday-Monday, March 13-14.
 
Sunday’s game is set for a 3 p.m. start at Tal Anderson Field in Omaha, while first pitch on Monday is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. at Haymarket Park.
 
A live stream of Sunday’s game is available on OMavs.com, while Monday’s game will be broadcast live on B1G+. Last Time Out
Nebraska suffered a 6-4 setback on Wednesday night at Kansas State, as the Huskers played their first midweek game since March 11, 2020. Of the six K-State runs, only two were earned, as the Wildcats capitalized on three Nebraska errors to grab a 6-1 lead. The Huskers scored a pair in the seventh and added a run in the ninth, but the Wildcats held on for a 6-4 win.
 
Next Up
Nebraska continues play at home after Monday’s home opener, welcoming New Mexico State to Haymarket Park for a two-game midweek series on Tuesday-Wednesday, March 15-16. First pitch on Tuesday is set for 6:35 p.m., while Wednesday’s contest is scheduled to start at 1:35 p.m.
 
Scouting the Omaha Mavericks
• Omaha enters the two-game series with a 4-9 record after toppling Creighton on Tuesday at Tal Anderson Field, 5-3.
 
• Mike Boeve leads the Mavericks at the plate, hitting .429 at the plate with nine doubles, a homer, seven RBI and 18 runs. Grant Goldston is second on the team with a .327 batting average and has three doubles, a home run and six RBI. Devin Hurdle leads Omaha with two home runs and 15 RBI this season.
 
• Charlie Bell is 2-1 on the season with a 2.81 ERA. Bell has allowed five runs on 17 hits and has struck out 19 in 16 innings. Mark Timmins is 0-1 on the year with a 7.11 ERA and 10 strikeouts in 12.2 innings of work.
 
• As a team, Omaha is hitting .264 with 119 hits, 27 doubles, a triple, nine home runs and 81 runs. The Maverick pitching staff has a team ERA of 5.50, while allowing 84 runs, 67 earned, and striking out 113 hitters in 109.2 innings.
 
• Head coach Evan Porter is in his sixth season at the helm of the Omaha program and holds a career record of 94-137-1.
 
The Series
• Nebraska leads the all-time series over Omaha, 60-10.
 
• Since Omaha’s transition to DI, the Huskers have won nine of the ten meetings over the Mavericks.

Garrett Anglim is hitting a team-best .412 at the plate, followed by Colby Gomes (.379) and Luke Jessen (.353).
 
Griffin Everitt leads the Huskers with seven RBI, while Max Anderson and Brice Matthews have scored a team-high eight runs.
 
• In three appearances, Koty Frank has a 0.60 ERA after only allowing one run in 15 innings on the mound.
 
Tyler Martin and Emmett Olson have toed the rubber a team-high five times this season for the Husker pitching staff.
