Huskers Sweep Wayne State, Park

The Nebraska beach volleyball team started its season with two sweeps at the Hawks Championship Center on Friday. 

The Huskers began the morning with a 5-0 over Wayne State and finished off the night with a 5-0 sweep of Park. All five Huskers pairs won in straight sets in both matches. In between the Husker matches, Park earned a 4-1 win over Wayne State. 

The Big Red used the same pairs for both matches with minor changes to the lineup order. Bekka Allick and Lexi Rodriguez were NU’s No. 1 pair against Wayne State and No. 2 pair against Park. Merritt Beason and Harper Murray were NU’s No. 2 pair against Wayne State and No. 1 against Park. Ally Batenhorst and Bergen Reilly played as the Huskers’ No. 3 pair against Wayne State and No. 4 against Park. Laney Choboy and Lindsay Krause were the No. 4 pair against Wayne State and No. 5 against Park. Caroline Jurevicius and Hayden Kubik formed the Big Red’s No. 5 pair against Wayne State, while Maisie Boesiger and Andi Jackson were the No. 5 team against Park. 

Nebraska is back at home on March 1 against Oklahoma Wesleyan at 8 a.m. and Ottawa (Kan.) at 4 p.m.
