Huskers Release 2023 Schedule – University of Nebraska

The Nebraska soccer team is set to play 18 games this fall, as the Huskers announced their 2023 schedule on Monday. NU will play eight non-conference games, 10 conference matches and a pair of exhibitions.

The Huskers will host nine regular season games in the ninth year of Hibner Stadium, after hosting 12 matches in the 2022 season.

The Big Red will face a challenging schedule as five opponents qualified for the 2022 NCAA Tournament. Saint Louis and Rutgers lost in the first round, Ohio State advanced to the second round and both Penn State and Northwestern made it to the Sweet 16.

The Huskers will play two home exhibition games to start the season. On Aug. 8, Nebraska will host South Dakota State before welcoming Oklahoma on Aug. 11. Attendance will be free for both matches.

 

The following week, NU will hit the road to open the regular season at Creighton on Aug. 17. The Huskers then return home for a matchup with Baylor on Aug. 20 before traveling west to face Eastern Washington (Aug. 24) and Gonzaga (Aug. 27).

To close out the month of August, the Big Red will host Missouri (Aug. 31) and then start September by traveling to Kansas State on the third.

The Huskers will start a three-game homestand the following week with UC Davis (Sept. 7), Saint Louis (Sept. 10) and Wisconsin (Sept. 15), the conference opener.

NU will continue Big Ten competition at Ohio State (Sept. 21) and at Penn State (Sept. 24) before returning home to host Rutgers (Sept. 28).

On Oct. 1, the Big Red will travel to Northwestern before coming home to face border rival Iowa on Oct. 7. The following weekend, Nebraska hosts Maryland on Oct. 12 and then faces Minnesota in Minneapolis on Oct. 15.

To close out the regular season, the Huskers will host Purdue on Oct. 19 and will travel to Illinois on Oct. 22.

The 2023 Big Ten Tournament starts Oct. 29, with games played on the campuses of the top four seeds. The semifinals will take place Thursday, Nov. 2 and the finals will be played on Sunday, Nov. 5.
